EEO Complaints Information for Managers

Managers & supervisors are often confused when an EEO complaint is filed naming them. This page is intended to provide managers & supervisors with information to skillfully respond to EEO Complaints.

Step 1

Cooperate throughout the informal and formal process. At the informal stage, a counselor will conduct a limited inquiry with the purpose of:

  1. presenting the issues to you and listening to your side
  2. attempt a resolution and
  3. if the complainant is interested in mediation, it is strongly encouraged you participate.

Step 2

At the formal stage, a case manager will be assigned from the EEO Office. Please stay in touch with this case manager who will advise you on what to expect at: Investigation, Final Agency Decision; EEOC Hearing, and/or District Court.
